Hello My Friends,
After learning many new things during the first week of our Web Skills course, I was looking forward to week 2. Before I began my very first Online course I was bit worried whether I'll find time to get on with it after meeting all the deadlines as well. But when I reached the first week without breaking into halves, I anticipated the second week to be the same.
When I saw Donna's email informing us now things for the second week is officially on, I rushed to open my email. I was bit taken aback after seeing all the reading I have to do. Bloom's taxonomy, ABCD model of writing Objectives, First step in writing the project..... all these new ideas started to entangle in my mind. But slowly it started to untangle when I started to read the material and started to do the tasks one by one. As we have the total freedom to reach Donna anytime to clarify everything, it has become a great help to run the things smoothly.
What impressed me mostly were the ABCD method of writing the objectives and the stack of search engines which enabled me to go into many resourceful sites. I'm sure my students will benefit after knowing some of these search engines too.
Though its just two week which had passed, I feel like being in this course for a month or so!!!! I think its to do with the new things we learn every day. It keeps us busy and exciting throughout the week. I have a naval feeling that I'm seeing and thinking about matters deeply and in a different way. I like that feeling and hope to get exposed to many more new things and face the challenge well.
Hi Chandy!
ReplyDeleteI also feel I've been in this course for ages because I'm not living blank moments any more, instead, they're filled to the brim!
Muhammad Rashid
Hi Rashid,
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly true. No more idling and I find 24 hours not enough for the day!!!
I've already printed Digital natives, Digital immigrants. BIG thank you to you and Tariq for finding the link. DO share more quality stuff.
Good Day!

Hi Chandy,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I want to say that your blog looks feminine (pink is a nice color and it is usually associated with girls). This is the first time I visit it.
I am so happy for you that you feel so enthusiastic about this course, so do I. But I have to admit that not even before this course did I have time to relax. It is always work for me,but I am happy to be busy and to learn new things.Lucky you and Rashid if you have time to spare!Maybe it is all about the oriental/eastern philosophy and the way of life!I hope I learn it from the two of you .
Keep the positive attitude ,
Dragana

Hi Chandy
ReplyDeleteSome of the course participants have shared the same opinion of yours that week two was different from the previous one, there were early hiccups, ifs and buts and new things to learn. But overall from your reflections, one can say that "All went well."
Hi Tariq,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visitng my post. Yes, as you correctly said, intially I started with ifs and buts but acieved my goals to the contentment of my heart.
Looking forward to the coming week!
Chandy
Hello Chandy!
ReplyDeleteIt has been very pleasant to read your comments, as I see we have had the same feelings through these past two weeks!
First: you are totally right! Donna has been great to us! I feel like I could ask any thing and she could either answer herself or encourage my classmates to do so!
Second: your thoughts about the ABCD method to write objectives are so true to me. I think that my students will benefit from the fact that I am acquiring a lot of knowledge very useful for my classes and the way I manage them!
Third: tough it has been very challenging this week, I feel very excited to complete the tasks as they are presented in our way! It is very nice to feel that your comments are being read by others around the world and vice versa, and also that from all this commenting, this community is growing and improving their skills in their own contexts and ways!
Chandy, did you have the chance to read the comments I posted on Nicenet? I gave some tools I loved from Donna’s suggestions and my very own (http://www.sweetsearch.com/ for example). It would be nice if you could read them and give me some feedback with your impressions!
It has been nice to “talk” to you! I hope we can continue to keep in touch in this weekly interchange of knowledge!
Best regards,
Teacher Henry from Venezuela.
