I geared up to start week 7 the same way thinking I'll be snowed under. But, I was relived to see this week was bit lighter than the previous week. Out of all the readings I had to do, I most enjoyed the Learner autonomy. I've heard about it here and there, but this was the first time I got a proper idea about the whole concept. To know about teacher autonomy really fascinated me. I wish we all get some more teacher autonomy in our jobs!
One computer classes are known to me, but varied type of activities we could get involved in, is very interesting. As this situation (one computer classes) will be a common phenomena in my teaching, all these strategies will be immensely useful.
My biggest challenge is to plan the project well and submit it by next Wednesday. These days I'm concentrating on it mostly. I've got Dragana and Sebnem, who are well versed in the subject and hope to get their precious ideas to improve my work.
All the best for all of you in project work. May we all meet the deadline successfully!
Hi partner,
ReplyDeleteI think we are all thankful since this week is not very loaded, and I think there is a good reason for that: a week of hard work waiting for us. I am a bit anxious about the deadlines, but believe that Donna will lead us through this process and bring comfort with her clear guidelines. I haven't started writing anything yet, but I am already implementing the project. Hope things will look allright on paper too.
Looking forward to working with you.
Best wishes
Sebnem
Hi Chandy and Sebnem,
ReplyDeleteI agree that week was a bit less packed with readings and the idea of one-computer classroom is generally known. What I liked most in the aplication of this is newspaper project (http://susangaer.com/studentprojects/newspaper/spring00/). I looked through the issue and was fascinated by the expression of students' ideas in this form.
I am also a bit worried about project deadlines and I wish each of us good luck and effective work.
Best,
Stasya
Hi Partner, Hi Stasya,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I agree with both of you about less work during this week as we are writing the project to be given on next Wednesday. That sounds scary to me too. As I have a project plan, I have to think carefully and decide on things. Hope we all will make the deadline successfully. I wish you all the best!
Hi Partner, I'm looking forward to work with you too!

Hello Chandy,
ReplyDeleteI know this has been a great challenge to all of us, since some are still working or doing some things on the side of this course. However, Donna has done an excellent job helping us thinking about the final project and having us doing some parts. Besides, there are so many excellent professionals in this group that I am sure the final steps won't be so difficult.
Good luck with your work.
Letty
Hello Chandy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that learners autonomy was one which really touched me as I was carried into my childhood days as a student.
Hope we are able to give the best to our students.
Hi Chandy,
ReplyDeleteIndeed, we have had great week in comparison with the previous one in terms of lighter side of work. But as you said that we all have to meet the deadline in time that's why I myself biting my nails to get the job done. Wish you best of luck with the project.

Hi Letty, Shavila & Tariq,
ReplyDeleteIts lovely to see your comments in my Blog. Thanks for visiting. Hope we all will reach the goal well, though I'm still stuggling to write my project!!!
Hello Shavila, I think we all prefer some freedom in everything, don't we? I see learner autonomy as another way of giving the freedom and responsibility to the learner to do the task well. Free thinking had caused marvels in the world all the time. So, it will work best in language classes as well.
All the Best in your project writing my dears!
Chandy
